'The Report' - the first few of a great many 'killer shots'

DISCLAIMER. This Website is based on my experiences and any opinions expressed are mine alone. I apologise unreservedly for any errors or omissions which, if drawn to my attention, will be corrected. I have done my very best to make my account both honest and accurate, and since establishing my first Website in September 1999 (after purchasing a 'rogue' new-build house), no errors of fact have been drawn to my attention: nor have I been obliged by anyone to withdraw any website content. Whenever attempts have been made to close a site my ISP has always supported me, for which I am very grateful. I have evidence to support the claims that I am making.

EVEN MORE EXAMPLES of important matters that Mrs Tracy Taylor, the Chief Executive Officer, HAS DELIBERATELY GLOSSED OVER, COMPLETELY IGNORED, OR MISREPRESENTED, THAT SHE SHOULD BE WELL AWARE SUPPORTS MY COMPLAINTS!

... and I really mean that!

ONE. I accused the Orthotist who treated me, Mr Brian Hopkins the Orthotics Manager, who never tired of telling me of his 35-years experience, of personally butchering a pair of orthoses and damaging another - both were then re-issued to me by him, they were deemed good enough for my neuropathic feet!  I wasn't even aware of the fact that he had butchered the one pair, until my feet had slowly become in so much pain, that I removed my orthoses to investigate.

  ..............

... here they are in all their glory!

... don't they tell an awful story!

.. if I wear orthoses that are unfit!

... I really end up in the - - - - !

Was Mrs Taylor or anyone else prepared to comment on these orthoses, or allow an Orthotist, any Orthotist, to even glance at the orthoses which are in my possession? No! No! No!  THAT IS SHAMEFUL.

Has anyone in a very Senior Executive position at the Trust seen them?  Yes! Yes! Yes! I showed them to Mrs Kirsty Hughes my 'Designated Complaints Manager', and to her Line Manager Mrs Alison Last the 'Head of Patient Experience', who was until very recently in overall charge of Complaints, at a Meeting on 17th November 2010

WAS IT A COINCIDENCE THAT SHORTLY AFTER THIS THE TRUST DECIDED TO DENY ME AN INDEPENDENT CLINICAL REVIEW?  The Trust have steadfastly refused to ask anyone even remotely Independent, OR EVEN ONE OF THEIR OTHER ORTHOTISTS TO EVEN GLANCE AT MY FEET, OR THE SHOES AND ORTHOSES THEY PROVIDED ME WITH - MEANWHILE, SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER THEY HAVE DELIBERATELY DENIED ME APPROPRIATE CLINICAL TREATMENT, I HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN SEEN BY AN ORTHOTIST.

*****No-one with any orthotic knowledge has been allowed to speak to me, look at my feet, or examine the shoes and orthoses the Trust have provided or serviced - isn't that just a tiny bit suspicious???

The Trust has also deprived me of orthoses fit to wear for long periods, and refused to do anything about the fact that the only pair of shoes that I had to wear were more than completely worn-out. This has done tremendous damage to my feet, my mobility has been all but destroyed as has my general health as a direct consequence of my much reduced mobility.  I cannot exercise like most people, a fifteen year old neuropathy saps your strength.

How I have been treated is shameful, and I believe that there are many people at the Trust who are aware of that.  It is simply plain wrong!

This is sufficient reason alone for my attempts to SHAME the Trust and all THOSE RESPONSIBLE - it is an absolute disgrace that they believe that they can get away with treating A COMPLAINANT with such contempt.

... I didn't get this one!

TWO. I claimed that both pairs of shoes provided to me badly fouled my toes and that nothing effective was ever done about this except for odd attempts at simple stretching.   Did anyone at all examine the shoes or check the fit? No!     That too is cowardly: that too is simply plain wrong!

THREE. I drew attention to numerous LONG DELAYS that simply could not be justified and MUST HAVE DAMAGED MY FEET.  No Comment!  That too is cowardly: that too is simply plain wrong!

These are all examples of what I call 'Taylor's Justice' - they evidence an inept investigation or a deliberate cover up - and nobody cares!

Golf  for Beginners

FOUR. I had claimed that the second pair of shoes were also of a particularly unsuitable construction.  This did not stop Mr Hopkins issuing them to me!  When asked why the suppliers had used such unsuitable soling and heeling material he simply responded 'they use all sorts of soles'.  Were the suppliers aware that my feet were neuropathic and my balance compromised - I think not!  The soles and heels were made from 'Vibram' a material held in high regard by mountaineers! I needed shoes for use for 95% of the time I spend in the home, from the moment I step out of bed.  Was anyone prepared to comment on this, or the fact that their 'repair' deprived me of their use, when I had nothing else suitable to wear? No!  That too is shameful.

... definitely unsuitable for me, with flesh wasted feet, ankles and legs, weakened by a fifteen year old neuropathy

... Mr Brian Hopkins the Orthotics Manager simply issued them!

Q. Why did the suppliers use such very heavy soles units for domestic use? A. Mr Hopkins 'They use all sorts of soles'

Q. Why did they make the shoes of such stout leather? (Also, no padding to tongue to protect protruding bone.)  A. Mr Hopkins 'They use all sorts of leather'

(It appears the suppliers made the choices, oblivious to the state of my feet and type of usage i.e. 95%+ in the home.

... Parents  can be so cruel

Could all these matters be figments of my imagination?

FIVE. Mrs Taylor has alleged that time after time my orthotic prescription was 'adjusted': counting adjustments that should never have been done, that had to be undone, and were not done properly - it sounds like you are signing the attestation clause of a will! Mrs Taylor should be painfully aware that Mr Hopkins steadfastly refused to alter my basic prescription.  I am painfully aware of it that's for sure!   Very painfully aware!  Mrs Taylor should take a very deep breath and recite - 'I am wrong' a million times!  And then do it over and over again!  Watch this space!

It is deliberately misleading for Mrs Taylor to suggest that there were adjustments to my prescription.

... the materials used and the construction were ALL THE SAME! (The ones on the end were a LATE Christmas present from the Trust, delivered on 23rd December 2010 by courier.  They were hard not soft, the colour should have given them a clue.  My Designated Complaints Manager had been on the telephone, meddling with my prescription, but it was nothing to do with that!  They were also several sizes to big to fit into the shoes! After I had reported the facts to the Trust they insisted that they were exactly to my prescription and that they had been photographed and measured.  They simply would not budge. They sent me an email that made me out to be either a liar or a fool!

Eventually I convinced them that I was right and they were wrong.  But they had left me without ANYTHING FIT TO WEAR UNDER MY FEET FOR A FURTHER SIX WEEKS AS A RESULT OF THIS ONE DEBACLE ALONE and they had been late providing the orthoses in the first place, it had taken them 34 days initially!  BUT MRS TRACY TAYLOR BROUGHT GOOD NEWS IN HER REPORT: THIS DID NOT HAVE ANY DETRIMENTAL AFFECT ON MY FEET!  AND JUST HOW WOULD SHE HAVE KNOWN THAT WITHOUT TAKING INDEPENDENT ADVICE???

... Revenge  is sweet!

SIX. Mr Brian Hopkins the Orthotics Manager who was treating me maintained that his 'prescription' was very similar to the one suggested by a very highly qualified Podiatrist and Clinical Specialist Podiatry (Musculoskeletal & Trauma),   who produced a highly critical 'Independent Clinical Report' for Worcester Royal in May 2009.  Mr John Rostill the Chief Executive (since made an OBE) did not take kindly to highly critical Independent Clinical Report!  It took me quite a while to even prise a copy from his grasp. What have the Trust written or spoken about it since?  You might well ask!  Not a single word - the Report has been deliberately buried.  I can well understand Mrs Tracy Taylor the CEO/the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust's reluctance to involve anyone Independent - but what of your DUTY TO ME YOUR PATIENT? I have alleged clinical negligence, yet you REFUSE to comment, let alone properly investigate, for fear you will be found out! Rather than admit your mistakes, you cripple me whilst dragging your feet.

Do I believe that Mr Hopkins' approach was 'very similar'?  How confident I can be. NO! NO! NO!

Is Mrs Taylor prepared to find out?  NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

It's like something straight out of 'The Vicar of Dibley'.

SEVEN. I asked the Trust to refer me back to the same very highly qualified Podiatrist and Clinical Specialist Podiatry (Musculoskeletal & Trauma).  But Mrs Taylor/her Trust said that it was out of the question because the Clinician involved was Podiatrist and Clinical Specialist Podiatry (Musculoskeletal & Trauma) and not an Orthotist.  But surely it takes a Podiatrist to determine exactly what has happened to the first Phalangeal Joint of my left foot and provide an opinion as to whether the treatment Mrs Taylor's Trust provided amounted to 'clinical negligence'?  The damage is so severe it constitutes a trauma injury, and they know that.

'The Investigating Officer' for my Complaint, Mr Mark Senior, General Manager - Operations, at the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre - the Centre where the treatment I complained about took place!  Can he be regarded as independent? Unless of course 'Operations' refers to surgical procedures?

Irish  Paramedics

Mr Senior made it VERY CLEAR TO ME, that he was NOT PREPARED for ANYONE INDEPENDENT to get anywhere near ME; EXAMINE MY FEET; THE SHOES; OR THE ORTHOSES  that HIS CENTRE HAD PROVIDED ME WITH!

How successful MRS TAYLOR HAS ALLOWED MR SENIOR TO BE. MR SENIOR HAS EVEN MANAGED TO ENSURE THAT NO-ONE UNDER HIS ROOF, OR ANYWHERE ELSE, HAS BEEN GIVEN EVEN A PEEK AT ANYTHING, save for my Consultant Dr Martina Walsh-Khattak, and I can safely disregard her as she was at great pains, perhaps better to say, went to enormous lengths to impress on me that SHE DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ORTHOTICS, because 'it is not her field'.
